KATE
Life is too short not to dance!!
A lover of dance for fitness for over 30 years Kate was initially hooked on the infectious fun of partner Ballroom, Jive and 1940’s Swing dancing. Joining her local gym, after the birth of her son, she discovered her dance addiction could be indulged in the group fitness classes of Les Mills Sh’bam & BodyJam. There was no turning back!
Wanting to step up and be a part of bringing dance fitness to more people, Kate became a BodyJam instructor in 2018, with the dream to create a bespoke dance fitness space not long after that.
Drawing from a professional career of over 35 years as an Architect, Kate brings a creative yet practical mindset to overseeing Glow Dance. She loves meeting new faces, learning everyone’s name and obtaining an architect’s brief of the dreams of every new person she meets. Kate teaches Groove Dance, Swingtrain, Clubbercise and BodyJam. She also loves almond croissants and family hugs.
ALLY
Ally is a retro music fanatic!!
Having discovered the joys of latin dance fitness in the early days of Zumba, she was sitting in her car one sunny day in 2012 listening to Beat It when she saw the matrix. Suddenly she understood how dance fitness principles could be applied to all her favourite songs.
From this pivotal moment, she created (and began teaching) her own retro dance fitness classes, leaving behind her career as a Naturopath to pursue a life of leotards and leg warmers. In 2015 she was fortunate to complete group exercise training with two pioneer fitness instructors, opening the door to another world of classic workout nostalgia - freestyle aerobics.
Ally is a passionate creative, and loves bringing her constant stream of ideas to life. When she isn't living the lycra dream, you can usually find Ally working on her other business endeavours with a chai tea in one hand, and one (or both) of her cats Jazz and Bowie in her lap.
CATALINA
Catalina started dancing, pretty much as soon as she could walk.
Everyone in her family loves to dance and they would always be dancing at home and at family gatherings. She started performing and learning more formally when she was 8, joining a traditional Colombian dance group and dancing right through to her graduation from Uni. She has never stopped dancing or learning new rhythms.
In her early teens she I started going to dance fitness classes, falling in love with aerobics and freestyle step classes. By 2010 she had blended her two loves together and started teaching Latin dance and Zumba, along with interactive dance entertainment.
Not only does she teach but she also runs a business that supports other dance instructors to fulfill their dreams. She is a social entrepreneur, master of ceremonies, facilitator and mentor, connecting with diverse people, promoting inclusion and proving that everyone can dance.
YUKI
Yuki started dancing at a very young age.
Her mother was a dance fitness instructor, and so she always had music and rhythm in her life. Going on to a professional dance career in Japan, she was invited to perform at the pre-opening ceremony of Japan’s Universal Studios in the year 2000. Wanting to share the joy that dance brings to her with others, Yuki followed in her mother’s footsteps and became a fitness instructor.
Her classes are full of energy, lots of fun and showcase her love of performing. When she gets a spare moment at home, as a busy mum, she is sourcing music and creating her own choreography for the next lesson or event. She can’t help it!
Yuki teaches Zumba, Zumba Kids, Zumba Gold and Zumba toning. She also teaches Kids Jazz and Kids Hip Hop. Yuki is addicted to cake and has been known to eat cake for breakfast!
